It has a bright clarity with greenish hints. Its bouquet is intense and finely complex, with a prevalence of white fruits such as pear and melon, slight citrus and mineral notes, as well as a discreet and well integrated touch of oak. On the palate this wne has fine volume, a lively acidity that provides it with a minerally freshness, with white fruits again in evidence, and balanced, integrated oak. Its finish is long and complex.

Winemaking:
After selection at the high altitude vineyards of Quinta do Cavernelho and Quinta do Sairrão, the hand-picked grapes underwent de-stemming and soft crushing in a pneumatic press at the Vila Real winery. Vinification took place with skin maceration, for better extraction of aromatic components, followed by soft pressing and fermentation in French oak casks with lees stirring. The wines that make up Vinha Grande were aged in French oak barrels for about 3 months. Thereafter, following numerous tastings and a strict selection, the final blend was prepared and, after clarification, it was bottled and matured in the bottle prior to release.

Store and Serve Advices:
This wine is at its peak for 6 years following the vintage, providing it is kept horizontally, in a dry and cool place, at temperatures between 12ºC and 15ºC, sheltered from light. It does not require decanting and it should be opened some time before serving, so that it may breathe and develop to its full potential. It should be served chilled, between 9ºC and 11ºC.
