ORIGIN
The grapes that originated this wine carne from a blend of vineyards in terraces along the river with vineyards of Quinta dos Castelares located in Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in the Douro Superior, at an altitude between 500-600 meters. Stony schist soils, typical Douro terraced vineyards, facing northeast. 

VINIFICATION
Hand picked harvest. Full destemming and immediately crushed, the grapes are fermented by grape variety and by blends, to make a rigorous selection process which will give the best blend. Fermentation in stainless steel vats of small capacity, with temperatures around 28ºC. Controlled and smooth macerations in order to get elegant and aromatic wines. 

AGEING

TASTE
Medium bodied and fruity, minerality, crispy and elegant, food wine with personality that shows well the old vines of the "Freixo de Espada À Cinta" terroir. 

PAIRING TIPS
Atlantic fish the oven, cod fish dishes, white meats and soft sheep cheeses.
